Hitch-hiking conmen Bad News Johnson (Spencer Williams) and July Jones arrive in a Midwestern small town with a capital of 25 cents.
Taking a room with Mama Lou (Inez Newell), whose daughter (Melody Duncan) is entered in a local beauty contest, they pose as Hollywood actors who can train Honey Dew in stagecraft.
Meanwhile, Mama's other daughter Florida (Katherine Moore) prepares to elope to Chicago with Johnny (Howard Galloway), owner of the Juke Joint...where, after a jitterbug contest, Mama herself takes a hand

Print isn't very good, but...
I love this film non the less because it's real and funny as hell. This reminds me so much of so many people I grew up with and my own mother never had the first qualm about bending me over her knee either.
Some of the acting was great and some stank, but the real feel to it is what makes this one so special. These were real events the way they played out..still are in many peoples lives.
